Is there a better feeling in the world than making someone else happy? No, I don’t think so either. I believe giving thoughtful, meaningful gifts is a simple way to show how much others mean to us.
How much time and stress do you experience when needing to find gifts and takeaways?
1. Find the perfect idea.
2. Evaluate the gift based on relationship dynamics, cultural sensitivities, and other key issues.
3. Research where to get the gift at the best price within the timeline.
4. Buy and submit all personalizations and approve proofs.
5. Make the gift presentation ready – wrap, bag, arrange, etc.
It takes a lot of time. Time which is in short supply because there is a whole laundry list of times to do before you got the assignment. This means the people that matter most to our organizations get one-size-fits-all gifts. The donor who donated ten million gets the same acknowledgment as the donor who gave a million. The customer who signed on a month ago gets the same gift as the client who has been with us for ten years.
It is time to break the cycle. Let’s treat our clients, employees, and other stakeholders as individuals, not as a faceless mass or a database of names.
