How people learn has and will continue to change: 21st Century learners expect technology to deliver an experience that adapts to their individual aptitudes and prefer more independence or self-directed training opportunities.
The cost of education continues to rise even when its perceived value declines: Prospective students now realize that it doesn’t make sense to pay $35,000 for the right to earn $35,000. Instead, they seek programs where the tuition is more favorable to starting salaries.
Training programs are often too long and tend to over-teach: All Title IV schools (vocational, liberal arts, for-profit, and non-profit) have designed programs that adhere to the federal student loan program guidelines. As a result, programs are artificially too long, too expensive, and too unfocused. Prospective students want training providers to listen to employers rather than regulation, and create training opportunities that are more in line with market demand.
Fear of the unknown has made the decision to pursue education a lot more difficult: Advancements in technology are accelerating the pace of change in the job market, which is having (and will continue to have) a profound impact on jobseekers. Skills in demand today may no longer be required tomorrow. The simple equation of “go to school and get a job” in the 21st century is more complex than it has been in the past. As a result, students are seeking cost effective solutions where they can quickly adapt to an ever-changing marketplace.
Our goal is simple. We want to provide students with the type of training they want, where they want it, and when they want it. And, to make sure they have a great experience along the way from the first day of the program through the first day on the job.
