Transitioning out of sport is not easy! An International Olympic Committee report confirmed that 45% of former athletes suffer from anxiety and depression after transitioning out of sport. The goal of the brand will be to inspire and encourage retired athletes to find new hobbies and fulfillment after retiring from their sport. By bringing this issue to light, the hope is that retired athletes are able to connect through our brand, ultimately building a community where growth and joy after sport is encouraged. The two things athletes struggle most with when transitioning out of sport is the absence of competition and the community that a team provides.

We are working on so many ideas for growing the brand, designing apparel, starting a podcast, YouTube videos, etc. We are interested in connecting with retired athletes who have successfully transitioned into new ventures. We want to provide a platform for them to share their journey. Everyone’s story is different. Some may consist of struggle, depression, anxiety, or some may have found it easy to move on to new things (all stories are valuable). Through all the different stories we hope to communicate to retired athletes that if you are struggling to transition well, you are not alone, but there is a path to transitioning successfully. As the brand grows, the answer to how we can best support former athletes will become clearer, but building support and community is the ultimate goal. I think with the right approach to marketing and building traction, this is an idea that has a real direction for positive impact.
